Tomato portraits
Medium: Watercolor on paper
The true portrait of a man is a fusion of what he thinks he is, what others think he is, what he really is and what he tries to be.
– Dore Schary
Heirloom tomatoes are so unique. Every tomato is one of the kind, and I have never seen two heirloom tomatoes the same. They may be similar, but their scars or bumps grow distinctively. I always think this tomatoes has an individual personality. I also wonder if the personality is coming from the tomatoes itself. Is it originally there, or am I the one putting the imaginary character overwraped onto the tomatoes? Either way, its bumps and scars tells me their own stories while I’m painting.
