Leda Meredith, author of The Locavore’s Handbook: The Busy Person’s Guide to Eating Local on a Budget, will share practical ways to make a seasonal, local diet affordable, convenient, and fun.

Leda Meredith is the author of The Locavore’s Handbook: The Busy Person’s Guide to Eating Local on a Budget. Her previous book, Botany, Ballet, & Dinner from Scratch: A Memoir with Recipes, was featured on The Martha Stewart Show. In it, Leda chronicled her 250-mile diet eating almost exclusively foods grown, foraged, and raised within 250 miles of New York City. She is an instructor at the New York Botanical Garden (where she is also the Gardening Program Coordinator for Adult Education) and at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden. Leda is a foraging expert and specializes in wild edible and medicinal plants. She is also the Food Preservation guide for About.com (a New York Times company).
